Brooklyn Cecylia Pring is Born

On Tuesday, April 21, the year 2009 got better! Our baby girl came into the world and was healthy. I was induced on a day that my doctor picked but, the date was special to me because it was my Grandpa Kuzminac's birthday. Lucas was born on my Grandpa Hardison's birthday. It's amazing to me that I had to be induced since I was dilated to a 4 for a couple of weeks. My due date was the 19th but it's like God knew I needed to be able to be elsewhere and he helped me hold off until the 21st. The delivery was different from Lucas' in good and bad ways. I was in labor and dilated to a 4 when I arrived at the hospital for Lucas but it took about 7 hours of waiting and 1 hour of pushing to see him. With Brooklyn, I was induced but having contractions on my own when we arrived. They didn't start the epidural right away like with Lucas so I felt a lot more like water breaking, contractions from pitocin, etc. We got started around 7:30 a.m. and she was born at 10:29 a.m.! Things moved very quickly and I felt when I needed to push this time even though I did have an epidural. It was uncomfortable but so nice that I only pushed about 6 times and out she came! My mom and David were able to be in the room again. Ger Ger was on her way over and made it right after she was born. Her temperature was a little low so they took her away for about 3 hours but everything was fine. She made the funniest noises and the doctor and nurses couldn't believe they were coming from an infant! See the video, the squeals come close to the end! She was 7 lbs 14.8 oz. and 21 inches long. She had a full head of hair. My doctor couldn't believe she still had all that white stuff all over her since I didn't go early and that stuff usually goes away. It was good for her skin to still have that on there! She is a sweetie and Lucas seems to love her quite a bit!

Here are some pictures of before, right after she was born and those that were there to hold her first!

CONGRATULATIONS! She's a cutie and we can't wait to see her! And you look goood for someone who just went through labor! Say hi to Lucas for us. I'll be posting (long over due) pictures from the wedding soon...including the pics of Gnash greeting guests and posing for wedding pictures!

Congratulations!! I've been wondering about you guys and that sweet girl! Your second labor experience sounds so much like mine (induced both times, already dilated more and having contractions when arrived, minimal pushing, faster labor, etc). So glad everyone is doing well!
