Lucas turns the big 3

On February 19th, our baby turned 3! David had to go to Cookeville that day so we woke him up before David left so he could open some gifts from us. He didn't mind being woken up for presents!! We got him a walking, roaring dinosaur since he is really into them now and makes me read the same two dinosaur books each night! We also got him another train for his Geo Trax set. He was quite excited to receive both! When Brenda got there, he opened her gift and it was a tool set. He loved it! He keeps asking what each tool does and honestly, I don't know what some of them do!

Our poor little buddy started feeling bad again from a cold that seemed to tag along with the strep so he and I stayed home that night from the Predators game.

On a really exciting note, he seems to finally be interested in the potty! About 4 days before turning 3 he started peeing in the potty and asking even to poop in there. He hasn't done #2 yet but I am just excited he is interested! We have been trying on and off since he was 22 months old and we are now realizing that he just needed to be ready on his own! Hopefully this will lead to complete training sooner rather than later!

Lucas watches Sprout and loves Caillou and Thomas and Dragon Tales, etc. You can make a birthday card and send it in and sometimes they will show it on TV on your actual birthday! I had to work so I had Brenda on the lookout for it. She said she never saw it. I looked online and it was online so that night we watched Today's Birthdays and they only showed 2 out of 30 cards submitted and ours was NOT one of them. They do show the birthdays at the bottom of the screen scrolling across and we did see Lucas, 3, Nolensville, TN! It was kind of exciting!

A couple of funny stories:
-We were thinking of signing Lucas up for soccer even though he is still not 4. Our neighbors said at his size no one would question his age. Anyway, we asked him if he would like to play and he got very excited and yelled "Yes!" and then without skipping a beat said "I will own those guys!"

-Mrs. Brenda told me that during one of their trips to the potty on Friday, Lucas said to her "You can't stare at me Brenda while I'm peeing!" So, she covered her eyes and she heard him start peeing and she took her hands down and smiled at him and said, "You are peeing!" He said "Brenda, you are making me stop, close your eyes!" Modest already!!

Here are some pictures of him from his actual birthday and the card I made to send to Sprout. His party is Monday and I will post those pictures as soon as I can in a separate post.

The front of the card!
The inside of the card. I can kind of see why they didn't show it! ;-)

He wasn't quite awake!
