Christmas Day 2008

On Christmas day, we slept until about 8 a.m. and then had to remind Lucas that Santa had come! He was excited. We also explained that the Elf that he had been searching for each morning since December 1st would not be back until next Christmas. David went downstairs and got the camera ready and then Lucas and I headed down. We had set up his gifts from the night before on the couch and floor next to the couch so that he could play with them as well. He totally skipped over Santa's gifts and went to the hockey table that Nana and Papa gave him!! Finally, he noticed Santa's gifts and stocking and got excited about everything. He received GeoTrax, a fire engine scooter, and a memory game. His stocking was filled with Cars cars, Stanley the Engine and lots of other fun things.

Around 11 a.m., Gerry and Michael came over and played with his new toys. They brought yummy snack foods and we snacked all day. Later, Rob, Kendra and Hayden came over and we opened our gifts. Rob had gotten Lucas the same hockey table as Nana and Papa had but Lucas was just as excited about this one as he was the first one! He yelled out "MORE HOCKEY!" He's obsessed!

I made lasagna and stuffed shells ahead of time so just had to bake them. We also had salad and garlic bread for dinner. After dinner, we played American Idol Wii that Rob had bought me! We had a blast singing and the finals came down to Kendra and myself! She won but it was still fun!

It was a great day and Lucas has been saying Merry Christmas mommy and daddy ever since!
