Oh my, Lucas turned 2 1/2 on August 19th! The time has flown by! He is so much fun and cracks us up! He's also pretty stubborn and seems to have inherited his daddy's selective hearing!! He says whatever he wants to, sings pretty much whatever he wants to, and plays any kind of sport he wants to. We are amazed by how much he loves to play hockey, soccer, baseball, golf, and now volleyball even! He continues to grow taller and look like a 5 year old but he's still our baby!
Some funny and sweet things he says are:
-Please and thank you in the most sincere way. Sometimes it's as if he is surprised that you are giving him something and he let's out a very heartfelt thank you mommy!
-I always call him my baby doll so I will say, are you mommy's baby doll and he sometimes says, "nooooooo!" and when I pout he says, "I'm mommy's baby doll" or "your my baby doll"!
-Before bed, he loves to go through the events of the day and he is so sweet because he thanks me for everything. If we went to the park or just stayed home and played cars he says "thank you for playing cars day", "we had fun"!
-I lay down on the floor next to his bed until he falls asleep and I always say "I love you" and he would say it back and then I would say "I love you Soooooooooo much!" Now, he says, "night night mommy, I lu you sooooooooooooooo much!"
-He sometimes says Y instead of L or just leaves the L off completely. The other day he says "Ook mommy, Titan yicked my yeg!"
-He has a tendency to say the D word and get in trouble for it a lot. The other day I was changing his diaper and he said it and I said "NO sir, we don't say bad words". He said, "uh oh, daddy gonna come up here and fank me!" I said, "yep, that's right he's gonna fank you" Lucas looked at me and said "no mommy, say it right" So, I said, "he's gonna come up here and SPANK you", Lucas smiled and said "I'm so proud of you!" He's a crack up!!!
I bought some school supplies and his sitter Brenda is going to start doing Pre-school type work with him on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She was a director at a daycare/preschool so she gave me a list of things I needed and already has a plan! I am excited for him to have a little structure on those days for learning.
He continues to love to read books and he loves the channel Sprout. He about has a heart attack when he sees that Thomas the Train is coming on next! It's funny to hear him sing along(sometimes hum if he doesn't know the words) to all the theme songs!
I wish I wasn't having a brainfart because I know there is so much more to tell but this is pretty good for now! Check out big boy (still in a diaper and still with paci) wearing his dad's shoes! He's a ham!

I still can't get over how much he's grown over this past year! He's such a little sweetie!
Too Cute!!! Don't you just love talking to them at this age!!
That's awesome your sitter was a preschool director! Lucas gets the benefit of one-on-one stimulation AND from a professional. That boy is set. :)
