We were able to enjoy and fun-filled family vacation this year in Destin, Florida! We stayed from August 23rd through the 30th and somehow avoided Tropical Storm Fay for the most part. We had beautiful weather although one night it stormed very hard and stirred up all the jellyfish! Yuck!!!
David, Lucas, Ger Ger, Michael, Rob and myself squeezed all of our stuff in the trusty van and made the trip together. We enjoyed the private pool at our house and the beach and the community amenities! David and I played his brothers in a sand volleyball championship!! We were no May/Walsh combo!!! The boys also played tennis a few days too. We cooked the first few nights and had breakfast and lunch at the house as well.
On Tuesday, the 26th, my parents were able to drive down with my Uncle Bob to spend the rest of the week with us! It was so nice to have them there and I was happy they could get away for a while! They bought a Wii and brought it with them so it was much enjoyed by all!! We ate out the nights they were there and went to the beach for our matching shirts and bottoms pics! Lucas was in heaven with both grandmas, papa & two of his uncles there! We missed my brother Kevin and his family and hope next year we can all go together!
Lucas loved the ocean and got so brave wanting to go out as deep as anyone that was in there and never mind if he had someone to go in there with him or not! Since we have gotten home, he has asked to go swimming everyday and to play Putt Putt, which he LOVED playing!! He liked playing the Wii and with his cars in a new place! He and I enjoyed playing paddle ball even though playing with him just involves me throwing the ball and him hitting it! His uncles spent a lot of time playing with him and I think he's going through withdrawal now!
Thanks to the whole family for a great vacation and to my mom and dad for their huge contributions!
