Swimming in the big pool!

On Friday, Lucas' babysitter was out of town so I just took the day off to spend with him. Jamie invited us to go swimming with her, Caymin and Carson at her mom and dad's pool. I was excited but unsure how Lucas would do. I found his life jacket from last year and was relieved that it was a 3T to 5T and held more than his weight. Last year he wore it but it was a little big, this year it fit really well!

He was so excited to see Jamie and the kids and I was hopeful he would love the pool. Jean and Jack live on the river so he was really looking forward to seeing some boats! He couldn't get over the "big water" and made sure everyone was aware that boats were going by when they did!! He was happy to get in the pool with me holding him and even jumped to me a couple of times but, at the beginning he was more into standing on the side hitting everyone with the big noodles and playing with the toys than actually swimming. Boy did he warm up! Caymin and Carson started jumping in and he wanted to jump in too. I would catch him and Carson at first because neither would jump in unless I did. Caymin is a little fish and did great going under the water and swimming everywhere. She even did a few dives before we left. At one point, I guess Lucas got tired of waiting on me while I was catching Carson and just jumped on in. He came up smiling and started kicking and using his arms. So, I just let him keep jumping in and he would come to me and then get back over to the side! Carson decided he could do it too so he jumped in without me catching him. By the end of the day they were all jumping in, going under and swimming to the side by themselves in the deep end no less!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT and was so excited!!! My arms are sore today from lifting everyone in and out of the water but it was worth it!

Jamie took a lot of videos with my camera but I will put the one that shows them all jumping in without me catching them! We didn't get any from the deep end but I wish we had, it was awesome!! P.S. Ignore the fatty in the water!!

Thanks to Jean and Jack for letting us come swim and for feeding us "Old McDonalds" as Lucas calls it! Lucas was asleep before we got to the interstate and slept for 2 hours when we got home!
