Lucas is a Year & a Half

Oh my, Lucas turned 18 months old on Sunday, August 19th! I can't believe he is a year and a half! He still amazes us daily! He talks constantly and is like a little mimic! We have to watch what we say because he will repeat it right back to us. He loves to learn new words and is so proud of himself, especially when I make a big deal about it, when he says something new. He says phrases like all gone, night night moon, night night stars, night night daddy, bye bye mama, uh oh, oh no, where did it go, is that it, etc. He likes to say oops a lot too! We have been working on saying I love you, please and thank you. He did please so much in sign language so it's hard to get him to say the actual word even though we know he can! He has started saying cheese when you take his picture. We love to hear him do animal noises, especially the horse (I will have to get it on tape)! If you ask him what a cow says he moo's, a rooster he cock a doodle doos, a dog he woof woofs, and a cat he meows! When we read books I ask him to point to things and I am always so impressed that he points to exactly what I ask him too! We got him a new helicopter and fire truck to celebrate being 1 1/2 and he says big truck for the fire truck and he tries his hardest to say helicopter correctly. His Ger Ger got him a guitar so he could pretend he was playing when David plays and he says guitar. He is obsessed with golf and does practice swings without a club, just like David, including the sound effects, all the time. He also likes to swing the baseball bat and last night and tonight he hit a few pitches that we threw to him. Both nights it was probably 6 hits out of 40 but still, I am a proud mama! We can't wait to buy him his first set of real golf clubs and take him out to play!! I didn't get any good pictures of him on his milestone (to me anyway) day but here are a couple of him playing last night with, of course, the golf clubs! I still have to take him for his checkup so check back soon for his 18 month stats!
