We went to Santa Rosa, Florida this past week with our friends Jamie, Chris and their kids Caymin and Carson and friends Troy and Julie and their little girl Ellie. We rented a house that had it's own private pool and the neighborhood also had 2 community pools that we had access to. One pool was an infinity pool and it was beautiful. It had a wonderful view of the ocean and the steps were a perfect place for our little ones to play. We had a great time waking up early with the kids, eating breakfast and either going to the beach, the infinity pool or hanging around our pool. After lunch we would put the kids down and enjoy some adult time at our private pool with 3 baby monitors surrounding us! It was nice to work on the tan and read a book and talk about old times! The house was beautiful and each couple had their own room and Caymin and Carson had their own bunk bed room. They did great staying in there all week long. The kids had the best time and their favorite thing was an air mattress in Troy and Julie's room. We are going to have to find ours and blow it up and have all the kids over! They also had fun sharing toys, dancing clothed and bare bottomed, playing in the sand and swimming together. Us adults had fun playing games and playing some Guitar Hero! Lucas gave and received so many hugs. I wish that I could have had my camera attached to my shoulder to catch all the sweet and funny moments that the kids did individually or together. I took a lot of pictures but there were so many moments I wish I had had a camera handy.
Last night, the last night of our trip, Lucas woke up at 12 something in the morning and cried for about 30 minutes, the hardest and longest crying he has ever done in his whole life, including when he was a baby. When we got to Florida, we suspected he might be getting a tooth because of his diapers and drooling but we never expected him to have such a hard time. He has had 8 teeth for forever and we actually wondered if any others were coming. We think his pain is so bad because he is getting more than 1 at the same time. The ride home was a little bit challenging but he did great to be in pain. He was so excited to be home that he forgot about the pain for several hours.
Anyway, we had a great time and we loved Lucas being able to spend time with other kids. We would love to do it again! I have so many pics of everyone and I tried to pick a few of my favorites since I took over 150. I will break them down into a few posts!
