Lucas has been talking in his own language for a while now, mostly screaming and making rasberry type noises, anything to hear himself. But, the past 2 weeks he has really sounded like he wants to talk. I know, he's way too young, but he really watches your mouth and moves his own. We have been saying mama, dada to him for a long time and last week when he had his finger in his mouth and when he would get mad (see exersaucer story) it sounded like he was saying dadadadadadada. Well, this morning when he did his daily ritual of waking up, talking and laughing to himself and turning the aquarium music on and off, he started with the dadadadadada. He was rather clear today. We know he doesn't have a clue what he is saying but regardless, we are impressed. Of course David loves it. I think Lucas does understand that it makes us happy so he continued doing it all morning and smiled and laughed when I said good boy a hundred times! Now, if he would only say mama!!!

holly - bad news. they always say dada first. i know what you're thinking. that's not fair. you carried him for 10 months, squeezed him out of rather small hole, and have been taking care of him ever since - and he won't even say your name!
