Lucas started eating solids at the end of June. I knew one day that I would have to feed him green vegetables but was really trying not to think about it. As most of you know, I hate green veggies, especially GREEN BEANS. The carrots went well, then the sweet potatoes did great then the squash was a huge hit then DOA, out of orange veggies. It was time for peas which I thought I could handle, only, oops, instead of peas, I bought two things of green beans! (Not sure how that happened). Then, on Sunday, a saving grace, one leftover jar of sweet potatoes! I had one more day to put it off. Then, yesterday, I had to do it! How did they go over you ask?? Let me first share with you that Lucas had one of the nastiest diapers to date yesterday and it was no skin off my back and no gagging by me when I changed him. In contrast, as I pulled back the top on the green beans, I immediately gag and continue gagging until I get into his sight! I certainly didn't want to influence him. What is wrong with me, no gagging when he unleashed the fury in his diaper but when I have to feed him something that is so good for him, I want to puke! Anyway, the first bite, I thought, oh, he really is my son. He made a funny face, the one that I am sure I made when I was gagging! But, no crying and no spitting it up and then I continued to shovel it in and he continued to eat it! So, I guess he's really David's son too!!! ;-)
The pictures are of Lucas trying out his highchair and eating some cereal. I just couldn't document the green beans! He did so good but since he is still my baby I hold him and feed him for now. Not quite ready for him to sit on his own and eat!

hol-
welcome to the world of blogging! i'm so excited to be able keep up with you like this since we stink at seeing and calling each other. i would just like to say that one of my most vivid memories from highschool is you running to the bathroom to throw up b/c somebody threw a green bean at you and it touched you! i'm proud of you for facing that demon for the sake of little lucas.
